The university is much better these days! Although I am already tired and looking forward to Christmas break (haha, only 3ish months away) I feel way less lonely here. People are actually more friendly than they were at St. Mary's! St. Mary's was very small though, and did have the tendency to be a little cliquey. I think that here no one knows anyone so everyone is a lot more willing to talk to new people. I am actually pretty happy about that. Also, there is a great benefit to having lectures in the big theatres. If you sit near the back, you get to watch so many people fall asleep! It is hilarious. I had quite a good time in Astronomy the other day watching a couple of people do the head bobbing. The train is alright now, I've decided. Really, if you bring an iPod or something, it is kind of relaxing to just sit there and "decompress" (as Lauren worded it, which describes it so perfectly). Some days it is brutal, but I think overall I will get used to it. I drove up the other day, and it took me forever to walk from where I parked to my classes. The train lets me off a lot closer. It was nice to drive home on the 12 hour day though. I think I will be doing more of that in the future.
I am excited for my day to be over today though. It is September 20th today. Does that mean anything to anyone? No? Survivor starts tonight!!! I love when the fall shows start up again. :)

Back to School
Ok! So I didn't want to update again until I had my pictures uploaded from the zoo, and tonight was the first night that I was ambitious enough to do that, so here it (they) is (are). I tried not to be so snap happy this time. I think I took and developed wayyy too many pictures when we went to see the dinosaurs, and I regret it a tiny bit! I looove the ones with the three of us in them, but as for the ones that are just the dinosaurs, I could just drive back up there and look at them again. The pictures are a little dull!
Yesterday was my very first day at the University of Calgary. I am still kind of excited to be going there, and so proud of myself that I got in, but it is amazing to me how lonely that place is! Even though I know and talk to more people there than at St. Mary's, I totally feel like just another number at the U of C. That, and the fact that the train ride up there isn't that much of a treat makes me hesitant about the year, but I am firm in thinking that it will get better. I certainly hope so anyway! Maybe if I take something to read on the train...
Alright, so the pictures were supposed to be between the first and second paragraphs, but I am tired of playing with this so I will leave them where they are!
What else can I say? This seems like a piddly entry so far. Ah well, I will leave it at this and update when I have more to say.
Good night all!

Week off
Today was the first day of my week off!! I (we) actually accomplished TONS today. Lauren and I headed out pretty early, considering it was a day off, and got out to buy the new season of Desperate Housewives (sooo excited to start watching it tonight) and school supplies. We found everything we needed and headed up to the U of C. I am a little excited for school, but also kind of intimidated. Lauren showed me where all my classes are (hopefully I can find my way back there next week) and we peeked into one of them. It is in a theatre! I cannot BELIEVE how many seats there are in that "class". I guess I was spoiled by starting out post secondary at a much smaller school! I am excited though. One thing that made me happy by looking into that class (theatre!) is that there were plenty of desk for left handed people. I was scared I would have an awkward year of trying to learn how to use a desk made for a righty. Luckily though, almost all of the aisle seats on one side are for south paws. Whew! We also got a lot of other stuff done at the U of C. We got Upass stickers, agendas, and went into the book store where I got two of my four books. It hurts so much though, to pay 215 (!!!) bucks for two books. They can pretty much charge anything they want though, considering you likely need the books to do well in their class. Oh well!
Matt and I went to the Labor Day Classic again this year. It was great. The game was slightly dull, but in the fourth quarter there were three streakers! Four if you count the guy who ran out with his pants still on, but he got booed for being lame. The Stamps won, and it was a good time. Also this weekend we went out for Jordan's birthday to a bar downtown. I had a FANTASTIC time. Met some new people and had fun with old friends! It was great. We got Jordan hooked on Matt's beer. Haha. Also, we did the traditional birthday movie (Harry Potter). We saw it in Imax though, and I wish I knew that they tell you when to put on the 3D glasses. The four of us were sitting there looking through the glasses and then not, trying to see if there was a difference for the first half of the movie. We must have looked pretty silly, considering that everyone else seemed to be clued in as to how the Imax situation works. :)
Have a great rest of the week!

Come home!
I think my BFF should come home!!
Lauren is gone to Winnipeg this week, and I must say that I am quite lonely and missing her!! Haha, she has only been gone since Thursday, but in my defense, I haven't seen her since Monday, so really, it feels like a lot longer ago than that! I do hope she is having lots of fun though. But seriously, come home. :)
I don't know if I posted about my new computer at work yet! I think I did, but this week I got a desk too!!!! I am so psyched! It is great to have my own little area now that is just for me! It worked out really well too, because my desk is right by Tracy so we can still chat and all that stuff. Also, we can "fight" about her (my) plant that I stole and put on my desk. As I am telling everyone though, clearly it is on my desk so it is obviously my flower.
Lauren was traded for Ashley this week on Thursday. Ash came over and we went to get slurpees, as per usual, and there was even some drama! We got back to my house and realized that we came back -1 cell phone. We quickly looked around my house and then went back to Sev where someone had turned it in (thank goodness). It was funny though, because they had called Ashley's mom from her phone, so later when we were watching BB8 (what a good episode!) her mom called and asked if she got her phone back. This was something she would rather not have had her mom find out about. Good times! I hope we can hang out more in the school year when Ash comes back for breaks and stuff.
Anyway, only one more week of full time work, which is kind of exciting, but also kind of sad. I am looking so forward to our week off in which Lo and I have toooons of fun stuff planned to do! I even have a coupon for the zoo, so I am psyched about that!
Last night Matt and I went to the casino simply because we had nothing better to do! It was so fun though! I put five dollars in (risky, I know) and we played that five dollars for nearly an hour, and when we left, we still had our five dollars (thanks to me winning it all back, haha!). That is totally the way to do it though! It gets a little sad sitting there and watching people playing all their money away and not even looking like they enjoy it. Thats an addiction for you, I guess. The woman next to me had something like 1500 credits on her machine (about 750 bucks on the nickel slots) when we started and 100 credits when we left and she was counting out 20's in her purse to put in the machine. I could never do that!
Four months until Christmas!! Would you believe that I am actually looking forward to it? I was in Hallmark the other day looking at all the new ornaments and planning which ones I am going to buy (although I think they go on sale later in the season). I just love Christmas!

Interesting!
Last night I tried to post this entry to blogspot, and it wouldn't let me! Maybe it is a sign?
Time for a quick update!
The weekend was lots of fun!
Friday Matt and I went to the Stamps game. What a game! The Stamps tied it with a touchdown with forty seconds left in the 4th quarter! The fans were absolutely wild, which are the best kind of fans. The game went into two overtimes, and ended up tied. Wow though! One thing I dislike about McMahon though, is that they have three ATMs on one side of the stadium, and one of them was out of order! It was so frustrating. I was talking to a girl in line behind me and we agreed that it would be bettter for everyone if they had say, ten more ATMs at least! The ATM people would make money, vendors would make more money because more people would have money to buy, and we would be happy because we don't have to wait in line so long! It was a great game though and I was so happy we went!
Saturday Matt and I went downtown for the day and did some shopping. We had the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had in my life (that may be a slight exaggeration). Manchu Wok from now on! Reasonably priced too. In the evening (well, night) we went to see Superbad. It was... alright. A few slow moments, but very funny!
Sunday I did nearly nothing the whole day and then got to hang out with Lauren in the evening! Hooray! It was lots of fun, although I am a little bit sad we are missing this Thursday. I understand though, its her vacation, and we rented a movie last night to make up for it!
I spent some time reviewing my U of C schedule. It was time well spent for sure! I think I have everything set up a little better, and although I have to go to the UPO (Undergrad Programs Office) to talk about some courses that transferred wrong, I seem to be in good shape!
Have a great rest of the week!
